Railroad Connection
Cumbres & Toltec operates a preserved narrow-gauge segment of the Rio Grande's former San Juan Extension.
A genuine two-terminal narrow-gauge railroad: the line was built in 1880, purchased by Colorado and New Mexico in 1970, and has carried excursion riders since 1971.
History
Constructed in 1880 as part of the Rio Grande narrow-gauge San Juan Extension. Colorado and New Mexico purchased the Antonito–Chama segment in 1970, and tourist service began the following year. Alternate departure: Antonito depot, 5234 B US Hwy 285, Antonito, CO 81120.
